Week of March 16-20

This week we will begin Investigation 3 in Shapes of Algebra. This will jump start our work solving systems of equations and inequalities.

Monday: New seats, tardy policy problem, revisit classroom expectations

Tuesday: Investigation 3.1. In this investigation students will discover the relationship between solutions of the equation 5s+10c=600 and its graph.
Homework: pg 42 #1
7th hour: Moving Straight Ahead 1.1
Homework: TBA

Wednesday: Investigation 3.2. In this investigation students will be changing equations from standard into slope-intercept form and vice versa. We will talk about the benefits of each form.
Homework: pg 45 #15, 16, 21, 22
7th hour: Moving Straight Ahead 1.2
Homework: TBA

Thursday: 1/2 day for conferences (AM Schedule)

Friday: Investigation 3.3. This is the first time students will be introduced to the concept of a system of equations. Students will be rewriting equations in y=mx+b form and then will graph a system. They will estimate the solution to the system using a graph.
7th hour: Moving Straight Ahead 1.3
