This will be a very busy week with MEAP testing and student-led conferences. Students will be testing in their 1st hour both Tuesday and Thursday of this week. It is extremely important that students get a good night sleep before the MEAP test and eat a good healthy breakfast. Parents, please stress the importance of this test and encourage students to do their best.
Monday Oct 13: New seats, review classroom expectations/procedures, clean out binders and finish collecting any old textbooks. Today students will be analyzing classroom data. They will be creating bar graphs for MP1 grades as well as looking at class averages in the areas of homework, participation, journals, quizzes, and tests. We will discuss strategies to help students be more succesful.
Tuesday Oct 14: MEAP Testing in the morning
1st - 3rd hour: Reading Uglies.
Wednesday Oct 15: (1/2 Day - Student-led conferences 12-3, 5-8)
4th hour: Begin Investigation 1.1 in Growing, Growing, Growing. In this investigation students gain an intuitive understanding of basic exponential growth patterns. Summarize with Lancer Notes.
5th-7th hour: Review linear patterns.
Thursday Oct 16: (Student-led conferences 5-8)
MEAP testing in the morning
4th-7th hour: Reading Uglies
Friday Oct 17: Finish reading Uglies in all classes
4th hour: begin Investigation 1.2. In this investigation students will begin to recognize exponential patterns in tables, graphs, and equations.
All other hours: Begin Investigation 1.1. In this investigation students gain an intuitive understanding of basic exponential growth patterns. Summarize with Lancer Notes.
